If you're seeking to an even consecutive numbers that is greater then 42 when added then we have to used trial and error;

Lets try this one if its sum is greater than 42;

[tex]20+22=42 \\ \\ 42 =42[/tex]

So this is not the answer,let's try this one;

[tex]22+24=46 \\ \\ 46>42[/tex]

So this are the even numbers that is greater than 42 when added...

[tex]22 and 24[/tex]
