Answer:

The idea that Christianity doesn't have academic or science behind it a dubious one. Especially, if you take into account that about 50% of christians believe in evolution.

These issues can be though and confusing. They are implicated by the communities we grew up in, the friends we have had, and our experience. Some of us ended up giving up on our church attendance on college because we wanted to party on Saturday night and still others had drawbacks based on the problem of evil. An issue I've addressed on here and periodically return to.

But in terms of the issue of science, i think our understandings should be clear.

First, science only deals with the world on the terms of science. Science of necessity focuses on the material. A full and comprehensive analysis of the immaterial is a bit challenging.

I think its easy to get trapped in these box of thinking in a way that unnecessarily reduces our understanding of reality.

However, i tend to think both history, empricism, and philosophy offer an alternative. And the sooner we acknowledge the ways in which the immaterial impact our dialy lives in big ways from ethics and virtue to intellectual concepts and even ideological memes, the sooner we're better able to deal with the challenges that modern man and woman are face with as they confront the forces of evil and dehumanization. Because only a belief systems capable of addressing the issue of character virtue on the one hand and dehumanization on the other is worth our intellectual or habitual investment.

Beyond that i would remind myself and people across all geographies and belief systems of the following......
