eliminate then solve the following:5x+2y=10 3x-7y=-4

Sagot :

5x+2y=10
3x-7y=-4

I think its best if we eliminate x first.
[5x+2y=10]3
-5[3x-7y=-4]

15x+6y=30
-15x+35y=20
-----------------------
41y=50
y=50/41

Substitute the value of y to any equation.
5x+2y=10
5x+2(50/41)=10
[5x+100/41=10]41
205x+100=410
205x=310
x=310/205
x=62/41

Hope this helps =)
