A spaceship is at a distance D from the earth. Let F represent the gravitational force acting on it at this point. The spaceship has increased its distance from the earth to 3D. What is the gravitational force at this point?

using the gravitational force formula, if the distance is tripled the force between them will decrease by nine times since F= ( G * m1 *m2 ) / R² where R is the distance between two bodies.  Neglecting the masses which arent given, 3² is 9 and they are inversely proportional to the gravitational force.
