Direct ratio. In this, the qualitative moment does not yet
emerge explicitly as such; its mode is still only that of quantum,
namely, to be posited as having its determinateness in its very
externality. The quantitative ratio is in itself the contradiction of
externality and self-relation, of the affirmative being of quanta and
their negation; next, it is sublated.
