For any two real numbers, x and y, one of these statements is true.
x > y
let x represent 3 and y represent 2
so it would look like this 3 > 2. We can agree that this is true BUT we can't agree that 3 < 2
x < y
let x represent 6 and y is equal to 8
so like the one above it would look like this 6 < 8. We can agree with this BUT we can't agree that 6 > 8
