and the given information means
y=x+7.80
z=y+12.40 or z=x+20.20

now to solve for x
x=[tex] \frac{76.60-(7.80+20.20)}{3} [/tex]
x=16.20

y=16.20+7.80
y=24

z=24+12.40
z=36.4

check:
76.60=x+y+z
76.60=16.2+24+36.4
76.60=76.60
