SOCCSKSARGEN is an an acronym that stands for the region's four (4) provinces and one (1) city: South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City. The region is endowed with rich natural resources and it serves as the main source of hydroelectric power for Mindanao.
