You mean, the dot on the top of letter i right?
The dot on top of the letter ‘i’ is known as a tittle. The small letter ‘j’ also has this dot, but no capital letters have the tittle above them. This mark was originally put above the letter ‘i’ to distinguish it from a written slash or stroke.
