Psychoanalysis is a psychological and psychotherapeutic theory (or rather set of theories) introduced by Sigmund Freud. Other important names are Karl Gustav Jung, Alfred Adler, Josef Breuer. It main assumption is that personality is determined by the events that took place in childhood. Moreover, some irrational feelings and actions are unconscious.
