If you're using a calculator (the non-scientific one), chances are, it doesn't follow the PEMDAS rule. If you're using PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction) manually, I suggest you stick with that, unless you have a scientific calculator.
