For example: y= 2/3x - 6
You should put the point in the abscissa first, the -6. Then the 2/3. You will increase 2 moves in the line -6 then after the 2 moves, move 3 times to right the point because of 3x. The answer will be (-6, -3) :) Hope this may help.
