to know the waist size of a person because when the clothes is much small, u cant be able to try or use them when the clothes is much bigger, u will be able to try or use them but it will loose. using cord is much better to know how small or big the clothe must be(it is much better to use cord to know the exact or almost exact your size to make you comfortable.
