In the poem, I don't think he actually means maid as in yaya, I think he means like maiden. Anyway, I think it basically means that he misses his girl and he regrets separating from her so much. He loves her a lot, he misses her kisses and her love for him, he misses those times when she was in her arms, and he dreams about her. That's pretty much it. Hope I helped. :)
