Find a number whose product with 8 is the same as its sum with 49.

NOTE:
Can someone give me solutions and explain even a little bit? And please represent x or n on the unknown numbers so that I wont get confuse

solution:
8X=X+49
8X-X=49
7X=49
X=7

the number is 7.
