His real name is Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda. He was a genius and is our national hero. He wrote novels and even poems including Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. ( also wrote Mi Ultimo Adios, or my last farewell written by him before he was executed in Bagumbayan)
