Exponent - the number usually a superscript, indicating the number of times a number is multiplied to itself.
Example:

Solving Square Roots
Square Root - the square root of x is a number y such that y^2 = x
Only Positive Numbers have Real number square roots
Negative Numbers have imaginary square roots
A positive number has two square roots, one POSITIVE and one NEGATIVE

[tex]- \sqrt{x} [/tex] -> means negative square root
Example

For solving for square roos by trial and error, think of a number when multiplied to itself is that number
