Basically, the two are similar in a sense that they are both forms of poetry. Also, both an epic poem and a lyric poem talks about a certain person. However, they differ on the emphasis. An epic poem focuses on the journey of the hero while a lyric poem focuses more on the feelings and emotions of that certain person.
