in the equation ax²+bx+c,
we can factor out it by thinking of two numbers when multiplied is equal to c and the sum is equal to b
e.g. x²+2x-3
(x+ )(x+ )
3 and -1
3+(-1)=2(right)
3×(-1)=3(right)
therefore the factors are (x+3) and (x-1)
note: there are a lot of ways to factor out a quadratic equation like completing the square, sum/diff of two squares and etc....
