Deoxygenated blood (oxygen-poor blood) ENTERS the lungs to get oxygen and release carbon dioxide. This transforms the blood into Oxygenated. Therefore, Oxygenated or Oxygen-rich blood leaves the lungs to return to the heart to be pumped throughout the body.
