Congruence of triangles
S will represent a pair of corresponding congruent sides.
A will represent a pair of corresponding congruent angles.
SAS, SSS, ASA, and AAS will all prove triangles congruent. Note, AAS is considered the same as SAA, so I have not listed SAA.
There is one triangle congruency proof that only works on right triangles. It is known as HL. H is for Hypotenuse and L is for leg. So if you have two right triangles and you know that the hypotenuses match as does one pair of legs, then the triangles are congruent.
