According to COLM,pi=pf (initial momentum of system=final momentum of system) when Fext =0

then,momentum of system intially, pi=m1u1+m2u2

=3000×10+1000×0=30000+0=30000kgm/s

Pf=m1v1+m2v2

=3000v1+1000×15

=3000v1+15000

now,Pi=Pf

m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2

30000=3000v1+15000

3000v1=30000-15000

3000v1=15000

v1=15000/3000

v1=5m/s
