mathematical expression of the problem: the length of a swimming pool is 8m longer that it's width and the area is 105m squared

area of the rectangle is Lenght times its width but you did not know what is the exact length and exact width,you only know the area which is 105m squared.. You may use this mathematical expression in finding its width and the length.. thank you

since the area of a rectangle is length times the width
A= LW
and it is stated that the length is 8m longer than the width
L= W + 8
and it is also stated that the are is 105 m squared
A= 105 m squared
then just substitute
105=(W+8)(W)
then solve for W

don't forget to write the unit of measurement after answering ((:
