The author appeared as third person limit omniscient whereby the author knows a lot about the protagonist as his creator except for one thing, he doesn't know about the main character's truest feelings. On the other hand, we can deduced that the author described the protagonist's countrymen as doubtful fellows and scornful but as the story unfold until the end of the story, it gradually changed.
