Linear equation of 2x+y=8 , 4x+3y=18

Sagot :

I use elimination method to find x and y of the equation;

Solution:
4x + 3y = 18
2x + y   = 8

    4x + 3y = 18
-2(2x + y = 8)

4x + 3y = 18
-4x - 2y = -16
         y = 2

To find x, subtitute one of the given equation where y = 2

2x + y = 8

2x + 2 = 8

2x = 8 - 2

2x = 6                    | Divide 2 both sides...

x = 3

Therefore, the value of x & y is 3 & 2 respectively.

Hope it Helps =)
