It will affect the whole community near the volcano the houses will burn and plants will die all of it will turn to ashes and maybe farming is there only livelihood/work, there food source will die and nothing to eat, the space they used to plant there crops will burn too, the vegetables will not grow since it all burnt down by the near volcano. Ashfall can have significant impacts on crops much like pasture land.
