Respond to the counseling need of the elderly population

Sagot :

Answer:

Although many older adults look forward to moving from middle age into their later years, it may be difficult for others to adjust. All adults may experience health issues and stress as they approach and pass middle age, and the support of a therapist or other mental health professional may help ease the transition.

Explanation:

Let me answer you based on my experience as a nurse since I am handling adult patients and mostly older ones.

Their complaints focused more on their lifestyle, their health, the need to take maintenance medications, their family especially those who were abandoned and many of them experienced grief and loss.

Special attention is provided to these older population. We have Home Health Care. This is a term used in the hospital I am presently working with. Home Health Care provides visitation to those patients who already went home and assess their status whether someone is really taking care of them, whether they are medications compliant and follow up what else they need. This is to make them feel how supportive we are to them. Helping them feel important to help lessen their stresses in life as they go through this unstapable aging process.

A combination of medications, strong family support and counseling are three important interventions which is so far highly successful not just for older individuals but for all our patients.

Therefore, it is indeed important to maintain support such as counselling for the older group of people.

For your assignment, since I am writing this from my own words as a nurse, you may revise those words and make them like yours.
