A lot of people underestimate the human communication process , the “mechanics” are far more complex than most people realize.

By having a deep understanding of the human communication architecture and how it works on a neurological level, how would it NOT make you a better communicator?

There is a huge amount of research and data on human to human communication, you’d be surprised what you could find out if you dug into it a little deeper, people spend their entire lives understanding it from a scientific perspective. It’s just WAY more complicated than most people think.

Those who communicate well use language carefully, describe things in clear terms, take into account the ability of the listener to follow their argument and tailor their remarks to accommodate the listener. These are the fundamentals of communication. You can talk “above” a listener, you can use words they do not understand, you can move away from the focus of your remarks, going off on tangents. When you are done, your listener hasn’t learned anything, may be confused. He may be impressed, “Gee he used big words”. But that isn’t communication, it’s self promotion.
