1. the administration through the department of social welfare and development launched the project "A Better World for the Poor", in this program large number of families living below the poverty line were provided small-scale solar energy technology kits. This small-scale solar energy technology was established in the barangay of San Isidro, San Juan City. At least there were more than 1000 families benefited in this project. This program aims to reduce the use of fuel wood, save money and improve the health of people. By using the solar technology, the families can use the electricity for the use of the light, television and the radio. The families that were benefited by this program, they begun to save and they can now provide the education of their children and save some money for the rainy days.
2. the government and the Xavie Ramos foundation also launched the "e-bike", this program aims to use the environment friendly technology. The e-bike is a motor-assisted bicycle. The e-bike contains a small motor attached to the rear wheel and battery which can be recharged by plugging into the mains. This program aims to reduce the use of fuel in vehicles and motorcycles. The Xavie Ramos foundation also partnered with the Bontranger solar and the Community of Santurce to give away the e-bikes to the people of the community.
3. the government through the department of energy in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank approved the construction of a mini-hydropower plant in Lunasin, Rizal province. The project aims to the improvement of living condition of the community that lives in the area, the local community will benefit from the mini-hydropower plant because the government will help them to improve the housing, health and education.
