A unit of measurement is a definite magnitude of a quantity that is used as a standard for measuring the same kind of quantity. It is defined and adopted by convention or by law. A multiple of the unit of measurement can be used to express any other quantity of that type. A length, for example, is a physical quantity.
WHY IS MEASUREMENT IMPORTANT?
The action of measuring anything, or a certain number of objects, is a measurement. Also measuring certain things correctly is very necessary including distance, time, and accuracy. We can really know the universe around us by measuring such occurrences or, in other words, by taking such measurements.
