A system is a combination of interacting or interconnected elements that follow a set of rules to form a unified whole. A system, surrounded and influenced by its surroundings, is defined by its boundaries, structure, and purpose, which are manifested in its operation. The subjects of systems theory are systems.
An ecosystem is a geographical area in which plants, animals, and other organisms, as well as weather and landscape, coexist to form a bubble of life. Ecosystems contain both biotic (living) and abiotic (nonliving) aspects.
