If two opposite sides of a square are each increased by 3 centimeters and the other two sides are each decreased by 2 centimeters, the area is increased by 8 square centimeters. Find the length of the side of square.

solution
(x+3) (x-2) = x^2+8
x^2+x-x^2= 8 +6
x= 14

but if youre looking for the length of side which is added by 3, .. that is 17cm
