I guess yes, because what she did was really terrible and she said that she only had it because she's really talented and she didn't have it because of some goddess who gave it to her.
Yes, she deserved it. It's her fault in the first place. If she wasn't too proud or boastful about her skill and if she didn't do such a terrible thing about the Gods (just because of her pride), she will not get punished.
