To those who don't know who John Donne is, he's the clergyman/ Dean of Saint Paul's Cathedral. He is a great English poet and one of his masterpiece is the NO MAN IS AN ISLAND poem. To him this phrase No man is an island actually is an idiom taken from his sermon in the said church way back 1642 . He simply wanted to imply that no man can stand alone in this life without the other because we all need survival in this same society we're living in. He indicated the importance of union, solidarity and hospitality of all the people this world. In this case, we should be connected to each other in all aspects of our lives.
