Because it is less hard to accept if you gain nothing than you lose everything. Gain nothing is just like a game that you do everything but you didn't meet your expectation, you can do it again if you failed. Lose everything is more harder to accept, imagine that you look after everything, you take care of everything but at the end everythings gone. So for me, I rather choose Gain Nothing than Lose Everything
