Find (a+b) (b+c):
F stands for first terms: (a)(b)= ab
O stands for outer terms: (a)(c)= ac
I stands for inner terms: (b)(b)= [tex] b^{2} [/tex]
and L stands for last terms: (b)(c)= bd
So the answer is ab+ac+[tex] b^{2} [/tex]+bc.
