Sagot :

(1) x-3y=3
(2) x+y=7

multiplying (2) by -1,
-x-y= -7

combining (1) and (2)
 x - 3y = 3
-x - y = -7

-4y = -4
y = 1 

substituting y value to (1)
x - 3(1) = 3
x-3 = 3
x= 6

The answer is
x = 6
y = 1
