Direction: Read carefully, then solve the problem on a sheet of
paper. .
1. The perimeter of a square bulletin board is 280 cm. How long is
one of its side.
2. The perimeter of a rectangular board is 24 cm. If its length is
9 cm and its width is one third of its length, what is its width?

Sagot :

1. square means all sides are equal, square has 4 sides. and i think perimeter is the total measure of each side, so that would be 280/4, the answer is 70 cm.

2. rectangle has 2 equal sides, and another 2 equal sides. its perimeter is 24 cm, the other length is 9cm which makes the other length 9 cm.

24 - (9+9) = 24 - 18 = 6, there are two other sides left that has an unknown measure, so 6/2 makes it 3, the answer is one of its width is 3 cm
