ORGAN
EYE
SYMPATHETIC NERVE:
Sympathetic fibers from the superior cervical ganglion innervate blood vessels (vasoconstriction), sweat glands, and 4 eyemuscles: the dilator pupillae, the superior tarsal muscle, the inferior tarsal muscle and the orbitalis.
PARASYMPATHETIC NERVE:
Parasympathetic postganglionic neurons innervate the pupillary sphincter muscle, causing constriction. In order to bring a nearby object into focus, several changes must occur in both the external and internal muscles of the eyes.
HEART
SYMPATHETIC NERVE:
The sympathetic nervous system (SNS) releases the hormones (catecholamines - epinephrine and norepinephrine) to accelerate the heart rate. The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) releases the hormone acetylcholine to slow the heart rate.
PARASYMPATHETIC NERVE:
The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) releases the hormone acetylcholine to slow the heart rate. Such factors as stress, caffeine, and excitement may temporarily accelerate your heart rate, while meditating or taking slow, deep breaths may help to slow your heartrate.
BLOOD VESSEL
SYPATHETIC NERVE:
In blood vessels, sympathetic activation constricts arteries and arterioles (resistancevessels), which increases vascular resistance and decreases distal blood flow.
PARASYMPATHETIC NERVE:
Under parasympathetic stimulation,blood vessels normally dilate, increasing blood flow but lowering pressure.
BASE OF HAIR
SYMPATHETIC NERVE:
Each hair root is connected to a smooth muscle called the arrector pili that contracts in response to nerve signals from thesympathetic nervous system, making the external hair shaft “stand up.” The primarypurpose for this is to trap a layer of air to add insulation.

SYMPATHETIC NERVE:
Sweat glands influence thermoregulation and are innervated by sympathetic cholinergicnerves. In the thermoregulatory sweat test, central temperature is elevated by 1°C and results in widespread activation of eccrineglands.
PARASYMPATHETIC NERVE:
parasympathetic fibres sometimes make functional connections with sweat glands, so thatparasympathetic reflexes provoke pathological sweating.

SYMPATHETIC NERVE:
The sympathetic nervous system exerts a predominantly inhibitory effect upon GI muscle and provides a tonic inhibitory influence over mucosal secretion while, at the same time, regulates GI blood flow via neurally mediated vasoconstriction.
PARASYMPATHETIC NERVE:
Parasympathetic action helps in digestion and absorption of food by increasing the activity of the intestinal musculature, increasing gastric secretion, and relaxing the pyloric sphincter.It is called the “rest and digest” division of the ANS.
URINARY BLADDER
SYMPHATETIC NERVE:
The sympathetic nervous system regulates theprocess of urine storage in the bladder.
PARASYMPATHETIC NERVE:
The parasympathetic nervous systemcontrols bladder contractions and the passageof urine.
