Unlike to temperate zones, where seasons are caused by the amount of sunlight these places recieved depending on the tilt of our planet, the seasons in the tropics are generally associated with the wind patterns that brings cold, wet or dry air. In the Philippines the rain season is set to start on the onset of strong south west monsoon (HABAGAT), cold season on the onset of North East monsoon (AMIHAN), and the warm season is when this monsoon patterns are non existent in the Philippines.
