Nonlinear text is the opposite of linear text. As its name suggests, it is nonlinear and non-sequential. In other words, the readers do not have to go through the text in a sequential manner in order to make sense of the text.

Linear Text
Linear text refers to traditional text that needs to be read from beginning to the end. Here, the reader makes sense of the text according to the grammatical and syntactic arrangement of the words.
Some examples of linear texts include novels, poems, letters, textbooks, etc. In contrast, flow charts, knowledge maps, digital texts with hyperlinks, and encyclopedias are some examples of nonlinear text.
Speaking
Speaking is an act of making vocal sounds. We can say that speaking means to converse, or expressing one's thoughts and feelings in spoken language.
Factual Recount
A factual recount is an objective recount of a true event by someone not personally involved in the situation. Its purpose is either to inform, entertain or both.
Personal Recount
personal recount requires you to retell an activity or event that happened in your own life. You must structure your story in a way that makes sense while using language that matches the same purpose.
