Purlins
→ are horizontal structure members used to frame a roof.
Rafters
→ a structural member used to frame a roof.
Hip Rafters
→ laid diagonally from the comer of the plate or girts to the ridge.
Ridge Board
→ is the top edge of the roof where rafters meet.
Jack Rafters
→ any rafter which does not extend from the plate or girts to the ridge.
