Sagot :
Phagocytes are a type of white blood cell that move by amoeboid action. They send out pseudopodia which allows them to surround invading microbes and engulf them. Phagocytes release digestive enzymes which break down the trapped microbes before they can do any harm. This process is called phagocytosis.
Lymphocytes (Specifically T-Lymphocytes)
Explanation:
Lymphocytes is a type of WBCs which is only slightly larger than a red cell and sometimes found in the blood. Lymphocytes plays a vital role in the process of immunity.
There are two types of lymphocytes: T-cells and B-cells
- T- cells are a type of lymphocytes which is originated in the red bone marrow and diffentiated in the thymus gland. Hence, it is called T-cells because it undergo a special process and produces thymus derived lymphocytes. The main function of the T-cells is to provide an important defense against many viral infections such as viruses and foreign bacterias.
- B- cells on the other hand, originated in the bone marrow and differentiated at the fetal liver. This type of lymphocytes is responsible for antibody mediated immunity and secrete antibodies into the body fluids.
