I was sent two presents for my birthday. One present weighed 5 kg and 175 g and the other weighed 3 kg and 350 g. What was the difference of the weights of the two presents in grams?

Second present:3.35 kg

Convert:
[tex]5.175 kg(\frac{1,000 g}{1 kg})=5,175 g[/tex]
[tex]3.35 kg(\frac{1,000 g}{1 kg})=3,350 g[/tex]

5,175 g-3,350 g=1,825 g

We subtract the two and then convert, keep in mind that 1kg = 1000 g
