Arts and crafts are a mirror to Philippines' culture. Crafts are a window to the very first culture that is blossom and shown on our unique ethnic embroidery, our own native bags, furniture etc. The design reflects the ethnicity of the maker/designer as well as the meaning behind every stitch and design as there are embroidery and fabrics for weddings, masses, coronations etc.
As for our art, it mainly reflects the social standing of our country. It was used as a propaganda against the Spanish colonialism during the rise of Philippine revolution well known artists such as Juan Luna's Spolarium depicts the hardships of the Filipinos under the spanish rule.
